Taste Safe Textured Slime

Children love slime and it is a great sensory activity for your young child to pull, smell, stretch, squeeze, poke, roll, slap, and pound! However, there are many slime recipes out there that you may not feel comfortable letting your infant or toddler explore with so here is one that is completely natural and taste safe.
Put ¼ cup chia seeds in a mixing bowl and add 1¾ cup of water. Add food colouring if desired. Let soak overnight in fridge.
Take the bowl out and add 2 cups of cornstarch and begin kneading the slime. Keep adding a bit of cornstarch at a time until you have the desired texture.
After you are done, you can put the slime back in a zipper bag and return to fridge for next time. It may harden so you will need to incorporate some water to get it softened for play again.
