Flexible Care

PLASP operates Before School, Lunch and After School programs in over 240 schools located throughout Peel and in Toronto, with over 190 sites offering Before and After School programs to children in kindergarten, as well as more than 30 Early Learning and Child Care Centres offering full day care in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon. We work closely with school boards to ensure a seamless transition for children through the school day. Working closely with families to meet their needs, we offer full-time and part-time care, as well as early and late drop off at specific locations.

Part-Time Care*

Early Learning and Child Care Centres: Part-time care is available in select Early Learning and Child Care Centres. Standard part-time care is either three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) or two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Where possible, alternate days and scheduling may be accommodated based on the current staffing and enrolment in the desired location. To find out if the centre you are interested in offers part-time care and has spaces available, please contact the Program Director of the Centre to see if we can make arrangements to meet your needs. Available only at select locations where space permits. Part-time packages cannot be shared between children.

School Age Programs: Part-time care is available for families who require occasional care. These packages are ideal for the families who do not require care every day. A single package consists of 14 visits per program (Before School, Lunch, After School Programs). Part-time packages can be purchased at any time throughout the school year and will expire in 100 calendar days or after 14 visits. When purchasing a Part-time Package, a one-time fee will be withdrawn. Available only at select locations where space permits. Part-time packages cannot be shared between children.

Unused visits are non-transferable and non-refundable. You may purchase additional packages during the same session. Please notify the PLASP staff in advance, of the days you plan to have your child attend the program.

*Please note that part-time packages must be used within the school year they are purchased. Part-time packages that are purchased with less than 100 days left in the school year, must be used by the end of June and cannot be carried over into the next school year.
 

P.A. Day Program

School Age: Children from Grades 1 to 6 who participate in one or more of PLASP’s full-time programs can also register for our Professional Activity (P.A.) Day Program. Parents are provided with notification of the PA Day program and school location, and can sign up for a location near them that suits their needs. The P.A. Day Program begins at 7:30am, with children arriving no later than 8:30am, and operates until 6:00pm. Children are picked-up and dropped off at their school. 

Kindergarten: PLASP offers a P.A. Day Program for children who attend kindergarten and are registered in the PLASP Before and/or After School Programs. P.A. Day activities for children in this program operate out of pre-selected school locations within the same neighborhoods. Your child's P.A. Day Program may not be held at the school in which your child currently attends. In many cases, staffing, program components and classroom space will either be the same or very similar to what your child is accustomed to. Activities for the day includes arts and crafts, outdoor time (weather permitting), and enrichment activities scheduled specifically for P.A. Days such as music classes, zumba or yoga. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided.
