This Is the Way I Touch My Nose

This Is the Way I Touch My Nose

Looking for a fun way to engage your infant or toddler? Our next activity focuses on teaching young children about their body parts. It will help to enhance their body awareness while reinforces the bond between you and your baby. No materials are needed to start so let’s begin!

Process

Sitting in front of your baby or laying baby down near you, sing and tap your nose and/or baby's nose and sing the song below to the tune of Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush”.

This the way we touch our nose, touch our nose, touch our nose.

This is the way we touch our nose, early in the morning.

As you go along replace nose with different parts of the body for example, ears, chin, fingers, and knees.

For toddlers or preschoolers, you can teach this song with actions. Once your child becomes familiar with the song, ask your child for suggestions to sing about.

This is the way we brush our hair, brush our hair, brush our hair.

This is the way we brush our hair, early in the morning.

Or:

This is the way we wash our face, wash our face, wash our face.

This is the way we wash our face, early in the morning.
