PLASP opens its first EarlyON Centre in Peel
PLASP is pleased to announce the opening of their first EarlyON Child and Family Centre at Shelter Bay Public School on Monday, October 1, 2018. EarlyON Centres provide inclusive and welcoming programs for caregivers and children up to 6 years of age. Programs are provided free of charge, however, caregivers are required to stay onsite with their children at all times.
The centre is open for drop-in programs Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 12:30pm. Be sure to visit during our open house on Wednesday, October 10 from 3:30pm-5:30pm.
“This is a brand new early learning model for PLASP and we’re very excited to offer this valuable resource to families in this community,” said Lynn Hiebert, PLASP CEO. “We have been operating PLASP programs at Shelter Bay Public School since 1981, and we are so pleased to be able to further support this community that we have been part of for 37 years with an EarlyON Centre.”
Programs offered at EarlyON Centres include play-based learning experiences such as painting, drawing, building, creating, reading, storytelling and singing. Programs are designed to offer a place for families to make connections with each other and community service providers. Professional, experienced PLASP staff will assist with providing child development and community service resources and facilitate parent and caregiver workshops.
