Food at PLASP: Fueling Learning & Play

At PLASP Child Care Services we know that learning through play requires sustenance! That’s why we are committed to providing nutritious snacks and meals while infusing a little bit of creativity.

Here’s a breakdown of the meals that we share together at PLASP by age and program:

  • Breakfast  - Before School program (Kindergarten & School Aged)
  • Afternoon snack - After School program (Kindergarten & School Aged)
  • Breakfast, lunch & snack - PLASP Early Learning and Child Care Centres and PA Day program

PLASP menus are developed in collaboration with registered dieticians and follow Canada’s Food Guide. To view a larger version of PLASP’s sample menu, click here.

We at PLASP know that sometimes getting little ones to try new and nutritious foods is a challenge! That’s why PLASP Program Directors often come up with creative ways to entice them.

“Food Experiment Friday” in PLASP’s After School Program

“In our program, we came up with ‘Food Experiment Friday’. Each Friday, the children and I try a new, no-bake recipe that we’ve agreed upon earlier in the week. We make it together to enjoy our own ‘cooking’ before we head into the weekend.”  – Tiffany, PLASP Program Director

PLASP works with Grocery Gateway and other licensed food suppliers to provide meals and snacks. PLASP Early Learning and Child Care Centres receive fresh daily meals prepared onsite or catered.

Real Food for Real Kids caters fresh meals daily to PLASP’s newest Centre at St. Clement C.S.
