DIY Cereal Box Puzzles

As we continue spending most of our time at home, it may feel increasingly difficult to find new things to do with our children. In this activity, we will create new puzzles from our favourite cereal boxes! Cereal boxes are great to use because they are colourful and sturdy enough to repurpose into homemade puzzles.

Materials:

-cereal box (cracker boxes work well too)

-pencil

-scissors

Process:

Using scissors, cut the cereal box so you are left with the front panel of the box. Next, using a pencil, map out how you want the pieces to look (curved pieces, straight edged, jigsaw, etc.). Depending on your child’s developmental level, you may want to keep the pieces pretty chunky and angular, keeping it simple for your young child (see photo).
