Homemade Bubble Solution

Store bought bubble solution can become expensive especially when you factor in the accidental spills that happen frequently when toddlers and preschoolers are involved.  Here is an inexpensive alternative with three simple ingredients.

What you will need:

  • 5 cups water

  • 2 cups dish soap

  • ¾ cup corn syrup

  • Container for mixing and storing

  • Small cup for individual use

  • Bubble wands

Process:

Combine ingredients in large container and mix well but do not shake.

Engaging
 with Your Child:

Bubbles activities are great to do with children of all ages. Although we typically do this outdoors, you can blow them indoors by laying down a bed sheet on the floor as bubble solution is sticky and slippery!  If you have an infant, you can blow bubbles for your child, “Look at the bubbles floating around you. This one is really big- try to reach it.” With older children you can count the bubbles, pop the bubbles, or try catching them on the wand or on your hand without popping them.
