Plastic Bottle Wind Spiral – An Arts Activity

Repurposing materials for crafts is a great way to get alternate uses of objects we have around our home. In this activity, children will use an empty plastic bottle to create a pretty wind catcher to hang outdoors.

What you need:

  • Sharpie markers
  • An empty, clear plastic bottle
  • Scissors
  • Elastics or string

Process:

  • Remove the label from the bottle
  • Decorate the bottles using the sharpie markers
  • Carefully cut off the bottom of the bottle. Be sure to supervise children who may need assistance while using scissors.
  • Start cutting the bottle into a spiral going towards the neck of the bottle, leaving the neck intact.
  • Hang the bottle anywhere using an elastic or string.
