Build a (Miniature) Log Home – An Arts Activity

Perhaps you have a future designer or engineer in your home – or your child is simply looking for an activity that allows them to tap into their creativity! Building a miniature log home allows children to conceptualize a design, and then attempt to build it using popsicle sticks and other craft materials from around your home, while using problem solving skills as they create.

What you need:

  • Cardboard, wood or another solid surface as a base.
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Glue (white Elmers craft glue can work, or, use a glue gun with the help of an adult).
  • Paint, construction paper, clay, or other craft materials to decorate or build furniture as you see fit.

Process:

  • Gather all materials
  • Start building from the bottom up and one side at a time
  • Construct the roof
  • Decorate as desired
