Build a (Miniature) Log Home – An Arts Activity
Perhaps you have a future designer or engineer in your home – or your child is simply looking for an activity that allows them to tap into their creativity! Building a miniature log home allows children to conceptualize a design, and then attempt to build it using popsicle sticks and other craft materials from around your home, while using problem solving skills as they create.
What you need:
-
Cardboard, wood or another solid surface as a base.
-
Popsicle sticks
-
Glue (white Elmers craft glue can work, or, use a glue gun with the help of an adult).
-
Paint, construction paper, clay, or other craft materials to decorate or build furniture as you see fit.
Process:
-
Gather all materials
-
Start building from the bottom up and one side at a time
-
Construct the roof
-
Decorate as desired
