Open and Shut Them

Smiling babies
Let’s end the work week with a finger rhyme.
Chanting rhymes and singing songs introduces children to new language and is an easy way to engage little ones while giving your child personal attention. Here is a fun finger play that is super easy to implement:

Open and Shut Them

Open and shut them, open and shut them (raise both hands and open and close your hands)

Give them a little clap (clap hands together)

Open and shut them, open and shut them (raise both hands and open and close your hands)

Put them in your lap (bring them to lap)

Creep them, creep them, creep them, creep them (walk fingers up from lap to chin)

Right up to your chin, chin, chin (stop your fingers at your chin)

Open up your little mouth (open your mouth wide and hover fingers outside of mouth)

But do not put them in (laugh and hide hands behind back)
