Sock Basketball – Physical Activity

Want to shoot some hoops, but don’t have a basketball net? Here’s an easy DIY option that doesn’t require many materials and that children can help to set up. All you need are socks for the ball and a container such as a basket or box to be the net. This activity works well indoors or outdoors and provides some physical activity.

Process

  • Roll the socks you have collected into a ball.
  • Place the basket in a clear space.
  • Aim and toss the sock that you have rolled into the basket.
  • If you’re playing with more than one player, take turns shooting the socks into the basket.

Tip:

To challenge your child, have them shoot from different distances. They can also keep track of how many times they score.
