Yarn Painting

Children manipulate and explore materials in their own personal way. As caregivers we can provide them with materials and model activities and skills, we want them to learn. Our next activity is a bit of both worlds, stimulate your child’s creativity and sense of touch by creating designs using yarn and pom poms.  Be involved in your child’s experiences by creating a painting together.

What You Will Need:

  • - Cardboard

  • White glue

  • Pieces of yarn (different colors)

  • Pom poms

  • Markers

  • Paint brush

Process:

  1. Spread glue with paint brush onto the cardboard.

  1. Make sure the yarn is cut into manageable lengths.

  1. Create shapes or patterns with yarn and pom poms.

  1. Allow the art work to dry. Once it is completely dry, encourage your child to create background designs using markers.
