Balance Beam Game
Toddlers love to move and are always on the go! Keeping that in mind, our next activity provides a combination of cognitive, gross motor, and fine motor challenges that your toddler will love to tackle. So, let’s begin!

- Painters tape for balance beam

- Colourful buckets or containers
-
- Various colourful objects from around the house

1. Set up your balance beam with tape as seen in picture, with “X “in the middle for starting point.

2. Next, set up containers for various colours. You could use a set of colourful bowls you might have or you can tape colored paper to bowels, buckets or containers to mark the colour.

3. You and your toddler can now collect objects around the house that are the same colour as your containers.
Now you are ready to play game

1. One at a time hand child, house hold object. Show child how to carry the object carefully across the balance beam. Don't fall off!

2. Child will place the object in the correct coloured container.

3. Repeat until all objects are in the correct containers.
Start the activity by inviting your child to go on a colourful object hunt around the house. Lead by example and demonstrate the process for your child, walk on the taped line and put the item in its matching container or bucket.
