Leaves on the Tree

There are many benefits to singing with your child. Songs and rhymes help children identify sound patterns and helps them learn through repetitionThey also help them express their emotion and strengthen ability to communicate.

Leaves on the Tree

(To the tune of “The wheels on the bus”)

The leaves on the trees are orange and brown, orange and brown, orange and brown.

The Leaves on the trees are orange and brown.

All over town.

The leaves on the trees are falling down, falling down, falling down.

The Leaves on the trees are falling down.

 All over town.

The leaves in the wind blow round and round, round and round, round and round.

The Leaves on the trees blow round and round

All over town.

The leaves on the ground go crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch and crunch.

The leaves on the ground go crunch, crunch, crunch all over town all over town.

 All over town.

Engaging with Your Child

Take your child for a stroll around the neighborhood or maybe even in the backyard. Search for a spot with colourful leaves on the ground. Ask your child to follow along as you begin to sing. Gather some leaves to walk on and listen for the “crunch”.
