PLASP Child Care Services Continues to Provide Safe and Trusted Care
For 45-years, PLASP Child Care Services has been providing award-winning, high quality early learning and child care programs that are licensed under the Ministry of the Education. Despite the set-backs of the COVID-19 pandemic, PLASP is proudly operating programs in 240 schools and 28 in Early Learning and Child Care Centres in Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Toronto. Additionally, PLASP currently operates two EarlyON centres in Mississauga with plans to open three more within Brampton and Mississauga within the next year.
The health and safety of our PLASP children and staff continues to be our highest priority. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, PLASP continues to follow health and safety protocols set-out by government and local public health units to ensure the well-being of children and staff. PLASP staff and children follow the regional screening requirements prior to beginning program each day. Mask wearing and physical distancing protocols are also followed. Toys and other items are not shared at this time and are sanitized after use. Additionally, high-touched surfaces are being sanitized frequently and the importance of handwashing is being emphasized and practiced with children throughout the day.
Toys are not shared and are sanitized after individual use.
PLASP’s staff have been trained on COVID-19 protocols and health and safety practices, providing them with the resources that they need to deliver fun, age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors, that foster opportunities for children to grow and learn. PLASP programs are consistent with the Ministry of Education’s “How Does Learning Happen?” pedagogy, and follow the regulations outlined in the Child Care and Early Years Act.
During COVID-19 closures, PLASP Child Care Services received feedback from parents and families expressing how much they missed being able to have their child attend our programs and centres. Once PLASP re-opened, parents expressed how glad they were to have that balance back again. One PLASP mother, Jennifer, had this to say: “I am a very happy PLASP parent. The staff are informative, kind, and genuinely care about my son's happiness and success at the centre.”
As we continue to journey through this pandemic and beyond, PLASP will continue to focus on providing parents and families with the support of available, affordable, safe, reliable, high quality programs for children with enhanced safety measures that parents can rely on.
Space is currently available for new and returning children in most PLASP Before and After School programs as well as Early Learning and Child Care centres.
