Painting with Yarn
Explore new techniques and strengthen fine motor skills by using yarn to paint art. Substitute traditional paint brushes with yarn and create different designs each time, as you drag the yarn dipped in paint, across paper.

1. Dip one end of the yarn in paint, while holding onto the other.
-
2. Place the dipped end of your yarn onto the paper or canvas and move it around to create different designs and patterns.
Set-up your activity and invite your child to play. Sit beside your child with materials of your own. Start conversation based on observing your child’s process, “you created red and blue swirls so perfectly. I’m going to make it just like yours”. This reinforces your child’s actions and shows them that the process can be repeated.
