Potato Hop

As toddlers learn how to walk, run, and climb, they’re always on the go! Provide your child with an opportunity to practice locomotor skills and reinforce simple counting concepts by hopping on numbered potatoes.

What You will Need

  • - Construction paper

  • - Scissors

  • - Marker

  • - Tape

Process

  1. 1. Using scissors, cut ten large potato shapes out of construction paper.

  1. 2. Using marker, number the shapes from 1 to 10.

  1. 3. Place the shapes onto the floor in correct order and secure them using tape.

  1. 4. Now let's begin the activity by singing or chanting the following song and hopping from one potato to the other.

Potato Hop

One potato, two potatoes,
three potatoes, four.
