Mess Free Painting

Art is fun, but can get messy! This experience offers a great opportunity to explore paint in a mess free-way. Using Ziplock's with paint, build onto fine motor development by encouraging your child to use their fingers to move around and smear paint.

What You will Need

  • - Ziplock bag

  • - Paint-several colours

  • - Spoons

  • - Tape

Process

  1. 1. Using a spoon, fill the Ziplock bag with paint.

  1. 2. Once filled, make sure to secure the seal by pressing the two sides of the bag together.

  1. 3. Tape the paint filled Ziplock bag onto a table or window.

Engaging with Your Child

Language and literacy are best learned through engaging in moments together. As your child begins to explore the paint, comment on all the changes being made within the Ziplock bag, “I wonder what colour will appear when these colours are mixed”.  Some ideas you may want to offer, “can you write your name?”, “close your eyes and see what you can create.”  This tactile approach will help develop pre-writing skills.
