Dinosaur Tag
Children love a game of chase and run, especially with a parent or an adult they trust. A game of Dinosaur Tag will have your child running, squealing, and giggling with delight once they’re caught by the big, hungry dinosaur!
You can start your activity with a big “ROAAAAR, the dinosaur is very hungry! Stomp, Stomp, Stomp” and start running after your child. Your child will naturally start running away from you. Once you catch up to your child, you can tap the Dinosaur gently on their arm and say “Chomp, Chomp, Chomp, the dinosaur is so full. Now, it’s your turn” and pass the Dinosaur to your child to chase you. This can support their understanding of taking turns while strengthen their agility, balance skills, coordination, and spatial awareness.
TIP: To extend this activity, you can research and get familiar with the different types of Dinosaurs (T-rex, Brontosaurus, Stegosaurus, etc.). You can also research into what kinds of foods they eat and whether they’re omnivores, herbivores, or carnivores.
