PLASP Child Care Services Celebrates Volunteers During National Volunteer Week 2021
April 18 – 24th is National Volunteer Week 2021 and PLASP Child Care Services would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the many volunteers who have contributed their time, energy and enthusiasm to our programs and Head Office over the years.
The volunteer program at PLASP is currently paused due to COVID-19 restrictions, however, with the theme for this year being The Value of One, The Power of Many, PLASP wants to make sure our volunteers know how much we appreciate and miss them.
Sharon Flood, Manager of Volunteer Services at PLASP had this to say: “Over the past 45 years, 25,000 volunteers have dedicated an awe-inspiring 1-million hours to PLASP. Each volunteer contributes in their own, unique way, having a positive impact on the experience of so many children at PLASP. Even though we currently cannot be together, I wanted to personally thank our volunteers and students and let them know that they are sincerely missed and appreciated. We can’t wait to be able to welcome you back!”
PLASP Program Director, JiJi El Talmas created the following video to show her appreciation for the volunteers she has had the pleasure of working with over the years.

“Each volunteer has their own, individual strengths and talents to share. One volunteer in my program created an after-school origami club, and another taught volleyball, and another taught the children about photography. Volunteers truly bring enrichment to our programs.” – JiJi El Talmas, PLASP Program Director
Although PLASP is not currently placing volunteers at this time, if you would like to be contacted when we begin placement again, please visit our volunteer page on our website and leave your information using the orange “sign up” tab.
Thank you again volunteers for all you do!
