PLASP Wears Orange on Orange Shirt Day in Support of Residential School Survivors
Today, Thursday, September 30th is Orange Shirt Day, also known as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. If you are dropping-off, or picking-up children from a PLASP program or centre today, you may notice our staff wearing orange t-shirts. At PLASP we wear orange to show that we stand in support of residential school survivors.
In addition to wearing orange, we know that education plays a key role in the reconciliation process. Leading up to the National Week for Truth and Reconciliation, which runs from September 27th to October 1st, PLASP staff received emails containing learning resources for both their personal growth as well as curriculum ideas to share with the children in their care.
Today we will be sharing images on our PLASP Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts of PLASP staff, children, and family members wearing orange. We are fortunate to have such a large PLASP community and are honoured to be able to show in our own humble way our support for residential school survivors and for reconciliation.
