Today, October 21st is Child Care Worker & Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day. We are so fortunate at PLASP to have such dedicated, nurturing staff who day in, day out are making a positive difference in the lives of the thousands of children in our care.

PLASP staff deliver the highest quality of childcare at our five EarlyON sites, 31 Early Learning and Child Care Centres, over 200 school-aged and kindergarten programs as well as Winter Holiday, Spring Break, Summer programs and PA Day programs.
“How Does Learning Happen” Ontario’s pedagogy for the early years, has this to say about early childhood educators:
“Educators are competent and capable, curious, and rich in experience. They are knowledgeable, caring, reflective, and resourceful professionals. They bring diverse social, cultural, and linguistic perspectives. They collaborate with others to create engaging environments and experiences to foster children’s learning and development. Educators are lifelong learners. They take responsibility for their own learning and make decisions about ways to integrate knowledge from theory, research, their own experience, and their understanding of the individual children and families they work with.”
PLASP couldn’t agree more! When dropping off and/or picking up children from PLASP programs and centres today, we encourage you to let PLASP staff know just how much they are appreciated!
PLASP staff are always going the extra mile to engage children – including at snack time as seen here with this sweet red pepper heart!
