Kindergarten Registration for New Families: What You Need to Know
Will your child be starting kindergarten in September 2024?
With an award-wining reputation, PLASP offers affordable, high-quality, licensed care Kindergarten and P.A. Day programs for children enrolled in kindergarten. In 2022, more than 2,500 children were enrolled in our kindergarten programs.
Kindergarten Registration Information
Registration for PLASP’s Kindergarten programs for the 2024/2025 school year for new families will begin on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. To register with PLASP, you must be planning to enroll your child in a school where PLASP programs are offered. To see if your child’s kindergarten school offers PLASP programs, please, use the “Search for Care” box on the right side of the home page. Please note that not all schools with PLASP programs have both before and after school care for kindergarten children.
PLASP Child Care Services is participating in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care System, which we refer to as CWELCC. This system will support Ontario families with their child care fees. CWELCC will reduce child care fee to an average fee of $10 per day for children under the age of six by 2025 through phased reductions.
For information on registering your child at their school, please select the appropriate school board from the list below. The kindergarten registration dates for each school board is also listed. Please note that these are NOT PLASP registration dates.

There is a seamless transition from the kindergarten class to PLASP’s Kindergarten program. Children are escorted to and from our programs, which are located in a kindergarten classroom, by trained and registered PLASP staff. Your children are always supervised and in the school community.
PLASP’s Kindergarten program provide an environment that fosters curiosity and allows children to explore. We believe that every child deserves a safe and caring environment in which to grow and develop to their maximum potential.
Our goals for children, consistent with the Ministry of Education pedagogy "How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years", includes the following:
-
Every child has a sense of belonging when they are connected with others, and contributes to the world.
-
Every child is developing a sense of self, health and well-being.
-
Every child is an engaged learner who explores the world with mind, body and senses.
-
Every child is a capable communicator who expresses themselves in many ways.

The Before School program begins 7:30 a.m. when your child receives a nutritious snack and participates in hands-on, active learning activities. From school dismissal until 6 p.m., the After School program provides your child with play-based, fun and stimulating activities while socializing with their friends. Outdoor time is provided daily. Our Award-Winning Team
All PLASP staff operating our Kindergarten Programs are RECEs (Registered Early Childhood Educators) who engage in fun, age appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors, that facilitate learning through play, and provide an interactive social program that supports and promote your child’s optimum development.
Staff have a valid Standard First Aid Certificate and are required to successfully complete a specifically designed training program. All staff hired to work in our kindergarten and school age programs meet the Ministry requirement under the Child Care and Early Years Act.
